Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, that is used to prevent the so-called e-mail spoofing where an email message is sent from one e-mail address, but to look as being sent from another, generally with the purpose to fraud the recipient someway. When SPF protection is activated for a domain name, a specific record is made for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide get it. The record features all email servers that are allowed to send valid messages from an email address part of the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and in case its sending server is permitted, the message is sent to the targeted destination. In case, however, the sending server is not included in the SPF record for the specified domain, the e-mail message won't be forwarded and it will be discarded. Whenever you use this solution, it'll stop third parties from sending spam that look as if they have been sent by you.

SPF Protection in Shared Website Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for every domain name hosted in a shared website hosting account on our cloud platform with only a couple of clicks. The function can be found in the Emails section of our advanced Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to use it is to select one of your domain names from a drop-down menu and enter the hostnames along with the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers which will be approved to send emails from your emails. As an added option you can even restrict the messages to be sent from your domain name only when it includes our MX records, in other words if our servers manage the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This option will give you the top level of security, but it is not applicable when only your site is on our servers while your emails for the domain name are handled in another place. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails risk-free from being used for spam and/or scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

The Hepsia web hosting Control Panel, which is included with our Linux semi-dedicated plans, provides you with an exceptionally intuitive interface to activate the SPF protection service for any domain name that you host in your new account. Just a few clicks in the Emails section of Hepsia will be enough for that and you will only have to type in the hostname and the IP address of the mail server that will be permitted to send messages from your e-mails. In case the emails are managed by us and not by another supplier, you are able to raise the protection level even more and take advantage of an option for all the outgoing emails to be sent only if your domains include our MX records. This option provides you with better control and it'll eliminate any possibility of someone faking your e-mail addresses with the objective of spamming or scamming people. It's not applicable if only your web site is hosted on our state-of-the-art cloud hosting platform, while your e-mails are handled by another service provider. If you are not sure what options to choose, our technical support team will assist you 24/7.
