A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also vital to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

If you have a Linux shared website hosting with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all option for a specific e-mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it will take literally only a click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain registered in your account. You can choose one email address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to miswritten email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a warning notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several clicks of the mouse in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated plan with our company. The hosting account will be administered via our in-house developed Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses with any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all option for a certain mailbox, you’ll have to click the symbol with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling the feature can be done in the very same way and will not take more than one click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a particular domain name, you will receive a warning notification. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never alter or deactivate any feature automatically.
